FAQ

Where is your office located?

My office is located at:

338 Harris Hill Road

Suite 104

Williamsville, NY 14221

I send new clients a map detailing exactly where my office is located in the business park and the closest entrance to the office.

What are your hours and how long are sessions?

Sessions are offered during the week in the afternoon and evening to accommodate work and school schedules.

I will do my best to work with your needs if my usual hours do not work.

You can expect sessions to last between 50 and 60 minutes.

How much are sessions?

I charge $85 for each session. Accepted forms of payment include cash, credit and HSA accounts.

Do you take insurance?

I only accept a couple of insurances (POMCO and Lifetime Benefit Solutions).

In theory, insurance is a good thing. But when it comes to counseling, they can set limits on the number of sessions you are allowed, limit what providers you are able to see, and require me to diagnose you with a mental health disorder for them to pay for treatment.

If requested, I will provide you with what’s called a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance to see if they will reimburse you for your counseling sessions.

How do I set up an initial appointment?

Appointments can be scheduled through email, phone, or the contact form at the bottom of the page.

I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation to explore what you are looking to work on and make sure we are a good therapeutic match.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This can be done via phone, email or text.

If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be charged the full amount for your session.

What types of clients do I work with?

My client focus is males and females 15 years old and up.

My areas of specialty are anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues and life transitions. I also work with couples seeking help with communication, parenting and intimacy concerns.

What modalities do you use?

I generally use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a strengths-based approach.

I am also trained in EMDR therapy and use this frequently with people looking to work through past traumas.

When our session is over, do you go and tell others what we discussed?

Nope! What we talk about in session is between us, so please don’t feel that you need to hold back. The only time I have to break confidentiality is if I feel there is either a concern regarding your safety or the safety of others.

Are you going to just sit there and ask, “and how does that make you feel?”

I can’t guarantee that I will never utter that question, but I can guarantee that while together, I’m completely engaged and focused on what we are working on.

I say “we” because I’m on this journey with you.

During sessions, I will ask you about your emotions, but also dig deeper into what you are saying to get to the root of the concern. I will challenge you at times and look at situations from different angles. I also assign homework quite frequently to keep you working outside of our time together.
