Your Relationship Is Worth It

Tiffany called in a panic. She was worried her marriage was over.

She and her husband, Jack, couldn’t say more than five words to each other before they started to bicker.

They hadn’t been intimate in months, and their lives seemed to revolve around their kids.

Tiffany loved Jack, but she didn’t know if she was still in love with him.

Was there any hope for their marriage?

Of course!

It was going to take work, and they both had to commit and invest in the process.

Early in their counseling, Jack and Tiffany realized they had the same overall goal: to stay together.

They also realized they had put everything else before their relationship.

Find time for one another.

They both looked at me like I was crazy when I told them their relationship had to be their top priority.

I explained the trickle-down effect: if their relationship is not in a good place, that effects their kids and their jobs.

They agreed to do their homework and carve out at least 30 minutes a day to reconnect with one another.

As time went on, it felt less like homework.

They looked forward to their time together.

Tiffany was actively engaged when Jack talked about his new project at work.

Jack planned a date night for the first time in years.

Their kids seemed happier, too, and even mentioned how nice it was to have dinner together without the fighting.

Is there hope for us?

Yes, there is – if you’re both working towards the same outcome.

Most couples reach out when they’re at the point of breaking up, or they feel like they’re having the same argument over and over.

Sessions will be hard. Most likely, there will be tears.
